Priscilla Leann Riojas

Priscilla was bitten by the “news bug” her freshman year of high school while taking her first video technology class. It was during that class that it became clear to Priscilla that she wanted to work towards becoming a journalist. Priscilla loved every aspect of the industry.

Her first step into the journalism world was participating in her High School TV station entitled Mavision. She anchored and edited the daily newscast, interviewed fans and players from the sidelines at football games and learned the basics of video production.

After graduating from High School in 2008, Priscilla went on to attend the University of Houston and studied at the Jack J. Valenti School of Communication, where again she poured herself into the broadcast field. She was a co-founder and host of a sports show entitled In The Game, which aired on Student Video Network. Priscilla was also a host and reporter for one of the longest running college shows in the country entitled Video Workshop, which will soon air on Houston’s PBS Channel. During her undergrad, Priscilla also held two professional internships at KPRC Local 2, the local NBC affiliate station, and at ABC 13. Both of these were in Houston, which is a top 10 TV Market. Priscilla graduated Magna Cum Laude from The University of Houston in May 2012 and now holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication-Journalism with a concentration in broadcast journalism.

Priscilla then attended Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism in New York City. At Columbia she had NYC as her beat and learned from the best journalists in the world, helping her develop even stronger investigative and reporting skills. She anchored, reported, and produced for the graduate school's weekly broadcast Columbia News Tonight. She recived her M.S. in Journalism in May 2014.

After Graduating from Columbia she was selected for a four month post grad Master's fellowship at the CNN Los Angeles Bureau.

Currently Priscilla is an Associate Producer at KTRK- ABC 13 in Houston.
